• The week of February 11- 15 was Love the Bus Week.  We are so thankful to have the school transporters that we have. We appreciate you.  If you missed this week, please do something nice for your bus driver next week.

  • Washington County Middle School is celebrating Black History Month with a number of activities.  Each class room has decorated their door with a quote by an African American that is applicable today.  Students and staff are also celebrating by reading Black authors and by reading about prominent people.  We will have a culminating Celebration in the Gym on February 28 at 1:30 in the afternoon.

  • Washington County Early College visited with the 8th grade on Jan. 29.  We are excited about the opportunity our students have to earn college credits while participating in high school in Washington County.  These students not only earn college credits, but they are able to participate in many activities that will relate to the work environment. Students in this program may be a part of Washington County high school activities including sports and clubs while they are working independently on both a high school diploma and a college associates degree.

  • On January 17, we had Dad’s Night Out at Washington County Middle School.  This is an event where the community and school came together to make an eventful night for students and their Dads (male figures).  We had Community Partnerships who donated the refreshments and participated in some of the sessions. The sessions were fun-filled ranging from activities such as Robotics, Bucket Drumming, Tyrrell Washington Smart Start, a Virtual Fieldtrip, Let’s Talk About It, and Building with Us.  While enjoying the activities, the group was also able to enjoy delicious grilled hotdogs with all the trimmings, freshly popped popcorn and a refreshing cold drink. The evening was filled with lots of adventure, fun, food and engagement. The school and community partnership came together for an explosive night of adventure, mentorship, engagement, and collaboration.
