Monday:
Children believe they still have all the time in the world to enjoy all night video games and conversations with friends til 4am. Spoiler: they DON'T. 🫩 😟

Tuesday:
You start setting the alarm clock for a practice run. “Alright get up it's time for school, I'm just practicing!” children mad " Man stop playing." ⏰ 🎶 😠

Wednesday:
You’re meal prepping early to get a head start “Don't touch these, this is your lunch for school?” children looking at you like you're crazy. 🥪😳

Thursday:
You find yourself doing last-minute school supply runs... at 8 PM... to Walmart... AGAIN making sure you have everything so the children won't have an excuse. 📝🎒

Friday:
Parents " Go and lay your clothes out for school next week." Children stomping to their rooms because they know deep down inside you are dancing with joy! 👚👖👟

Parents, the countdown is on!💃🏽🕺🏽
But hey, here’s to the glorious return of predictable schedules, actual conversations, and peaceful dinners (fingers crossed).

Our district is experiencing widespread issues with telephone communications today. Calls to the schools and offices are intermittent at this time. 🎉 School Nurse Appreciation Day – May 7th🎉 Today, we proudly recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of our school nurses in honor of School Nurse Appreciation Day. Their work is vital to the health and well-being of our entire school community, and we are incredibly grateful for all they do—both visibly and behind the scenes. Our school nurses juggle a wide range of responsibilities with professionalism, dedication, and compassion. Their recent contributions include: Maintaining 100% compliance for student health assessments and immunizations. Conducting staff-wide training on basic first aid, and training medication administrators and alternates, while ensuring classrooms are stocked with essential first aid supplies. Collaborating with AGAPE, the Health Department, and WCRMS to holistically support student health needs. Distributing free COVID-19 tests provided by NCDHHS. Organizing and implementing the SMILE Mobile Dentist Program, offering students free dental care. Successfully applying for and receiving a $5,000 Feminine Hygiene Grant, benefiting students from elementary through high school. Completing Stop the Bleed emergency preparedness training. Responding daily to the physical and emotional needs of students and staff, creating a safe and supportive learning environment. Our school nurses are the heartbeat of health in our schools. Their commitment, skill, and care make a lasting difference every single day. Today, we salute you—and we thank you.

Due to limited bus availability, Washington County High School (WCHS) and Washington County Early College High School (WCECHS) will dismiss at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, March 19th. Washington County Elementary School (WCES) will follow with a 12:15 p.m. dismissal. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We appreciate your support!
