WCES Student Government Association is hosting a canned food drive October 15–November 13. Donations of canned goods, peanut butter, and other non-perishable foods are encouraged. Classes collecting the most cans will win prizes: 1st place – Pizza Party, 2nd place – Ice Cream Party, and 3rd place – Icies. Flyer for Washington County Elementary McTeacher Night. The event will be held Thursday, October 15 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at McDonald’s, 432 US-64, Plymouth, NC 27962. Washington County Elementary teachers and staff will work alongside the McDonald’s crew, and a portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit Washington County Elementary. The flyer includes McDonald’s food graphics, a Panther mascot, and the message “Food, Fun and Community.”

Today, our Kindergarten students took a special moment to honor and celebrate Ms. D and show their appreciation for everything she does each day!

We also want to recognize all of our amazing custodians at Washington County Elementary School. From keeping our classrooms and hallways clean to making sure our school is safe, welcoming, and ready for learning each day, your hard work does not go unnoticed.

Many of the things you do happen behind the scenes, but they make a BIG difference for our students and staff every single day.

Recorder Update for 4th & 5th Grade Families!

Our 4th and 5th grade students will be learning to play the recorder in music class this school year! Students will use their recorders throughout the year as they build music skills, practice reading music, and prepare for future opportunities such as band.
Each recorder costs $10, and students will be able to keep their recorder at the end of the school year.

Recorder Update for 4th and 5th Grade Music Class. Fourth and fifth grade students will be learning to play the recorder in music class this school year. Each student will receive their own recorder to use throughout the school year and will be able to keep it at the end of the year. The cost is $10. Payments are due by October 16 and should be returned to Ms. Fuller, Music Teacher. Learning to play the recorder will help students develop skills in reading music, listening, focus, coordination, and following directions.

AGAPE School Based Health Services is partnering with WCES to help complete required health assessments. If you would like your scholar to have the required health assessment completed at school, return the packet that was sent home today by Tuesday September 1, 2026 and it will be completed Thursday September 4, 2026. WCES SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST 2026-2027
Good Evening, Parents and Guardians. This is Ms. Gallop with an important reminder regarding our Summer Camp program for students whose enrollment has been finalized and confirmed.

Summer Camp will be held June 8th through June 11th and June 15th through June 18th. Please note that there will be no camp on Fridays.

Camp hours are from 7:45 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. each day. Students should arrive on time and ready to learn, grow, and participate in fun learning opportunities.

Bus transportation will be provided for eligible students. Buses will begin rolling at approximately 5:55 a.m. Parents may use the Here Comes the Bus app to track their child's bus location and arrival times. To register, please use our school code: 82281.

Car riders are expected to be picked up promptly at 2:30 p.m. and should exit campus immediately following dismissal.

Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle each day to stay hydrated. All students are expected to follow the school dress code and adhere to all school rules and expectations while attending summer camp.

Please be advised that behavior expectations will be enforced to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for all participants. Students are expected to come prepared to learn, follow directions, and demonstrate positive behavior throughout the program.

We are excited to provide this opportunity for our students and look forward to a successful Summer Camp experience filled with engaging activities and fun learning opportunities. If you have any questions, please contact the school at 252-793-3031.

WCS Summer Feeding Program for the community children ages 18 and under. Breakfast will be served daily from 7:45 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
