Parents, make sure your child is at school on time and for the whole day each day to take advantage of every instructional minute available. Friday 10/17 is the end of the first nine weeks, Students all make up assignments must be turned in before the 17th. Parents please make sure we have updated phone numbers and addresses for your child and that you have accepted your child's teacher Remind request. WCES will have McTeacher Night on Thursday 10/16. Please comes out and have dinner at McDonald with the WCES staff. Parents make sure your child is reading for at least 20 minutes and completing their homework every night. We could not have had success without you, Parents, please save the date of Thursday 10/16 as McTeacher Night. Bring your family out to McDonalds to have dinner with your WCES staff. A reminder that morning drop off starts at 7:45am with instruction starting at 8:15am. Afternoon pickup starts at 3:45pm with early pickups needing to happen by 3:20pm. National Principals Month takes place every October to recognize and honor the hard work and dedication of school leaders. It is a time to celebrate the pivotal role principals play in creating a positive and successful learning environment for students. You can show appreciation by writing thank-you notes, organizing a celebration, or sharing your appreciation on social media using the hashtag #NationalPrincipalsMonth. What is National Principals Month? Purpose: To acknowledge and thank principals for their leadership, efforts, and dedication to students and their schools. When: Throughout the month of October. How to Celebrate! Thank You Notes: Encourage students and parents to write thank-you cards or letters to principals, highlighting specific things they appreciate. Appreciation Activities: Plan a school-wide assembly, create a class poster for the principal's office, or make a collaborative video message from students. Washington County Schools is diligently monitoring the developing weather patterns related to the tropical storm/hurricane activity. While the projected track remains inconclusive at this time, please know that the safety of our students and staff is our top priority.

We will continue to follow updates closely and will provide additional information regarding the district’s operating status for next week on Sunday. ALL AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES (INCLUDING TONIGHT'S FOOTBALL GAME) HAVE BEEN CANCELLED.

Students arriving after 8:15, will be marked as tardy. Early pickups on Monday - Thursday has to done by 3:25pm. Fridays are early release days and early pickup has to be done by 11:50am. Good Evening Panther Family This is Principal Peele with this week's announcements. Tomorrow 9/1 is Labor Day and there is no school for students or staff. Every Friday is an early dismissal and school will dismiss at 12:15pm. Please plan accordingly. Parents of kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students, we will have an informational meeting on 9/4 starting at 5pm to discuss the grade level requirements and expectations. Good Evening Panther Family This is Principal Peele with this week's announcements. Parents, starting tomorrow, Monday 8/25, students will be going to class in the morning on their own with the help of the WCES staff. Be reminded that morning car riders drop off starts at 7:45am. Please do not leave your child before 7:45am unattended. Car riders will be dismissed from class at 3:45pm. Please follow the directive of the staff directing the car rider lines so we can move everyone through as smooth as possible. Parents make sure students are at school on time and remain at school for the whole day to take advantage of every instructional minute available. If you have to pick your child up early , make sure they are picked up by 3:20pm. If the pickup is after 3:20pm, students will not be called to the office until the 3:45pm dismissal. Parents, please make sure that your child's teacher has updated contact information and that you have accepted their Remind request for two way communication between you and the teacher. Also, be reminded that every Friday will be an early release day and school will be dismissing at 12:15pm for students.
