🤝 The Power of Community Partnerships 🤝
Washington County Schools is grateful for the support of Domtar employees, who recently donated supplies to our Community Resource Coordinator for the district. 🎒✏️📚
These partnerships make a real difference in meeting the needs of our students and families. Together, we are stronger—and together, we are building brighter futures! 💙💛

✨ Impact. Inspiration. Direction. ✨
Today, Washington County Schools had the privilege of welcoming back one of our very own graduates, who delivered an impactful presentation from start to finish to a group of high-achieving upperclassmen from WCHECH & WCHS planning to attend a four year university.
Through a Lunch & Learn event—made possible by a partnership between CTE’s National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) and Community Schools—students walked away with wisdom that can truly shape their futures.
Some of the powerful takeaways from Dr. Downing's presentation included:
💡 “Rejection is Redirection” – keep moving forward.
💡 Apply early, know your deadlines, and work on essays and personal statements ahead of time.
💡 Narrow down your college choices (3–5 schools).
💡 Learn how to win with scholarship essays by standing out, staying neutral where needed, and remembering: “Optional means required.”
💡 Complete your RDS.
💡 “If you help enough people get where they need to be in life, you’ll get where you need to be.”
💡 Don’t be afraid to use high-frequency brain music to boost focus.
💡 Celebrate small wins—turning experiences into powerful stories that shine in essays.
The presentation not only gave practical strategies but also pushed our students to dream bigger, work smarter, and believe in their ability to stand out on college and scholarship applications.
This was more than a session—it was an investment into the future of Washington County. 🌟

Our Foods students are hard at work in the lab, cooking up delicious dishes while learning hands-on skills that will last a lifetime! #CTE

Check out our Foods II students in action! They’re testing foods for carbohydrates, predicting whether they’re simple or complex, and then confirming their results through testing.

🚨Seniors 🚨

It is important for parents and seniors to attend FAFSA Night because it provides step-by-step guidance on completing the financial aid application correctly and on time.

We were delighted to welcome US Congressman Don Davis to our campus today.

We kicked off the school year with purpose and intention!
Students were separated by grade level (6–12) to review clear expectations and reinforce our non-negotiables. Afterwards, they headed into the classroom where AVID strategies were put into action — allowing students to collaborate and create social contracts that will guide how we learn and grow together this year.
A strong start sets the tone… and we’re off to a great one! 🚀💛

What a powerful way to begin the school year! 🙏🏽❤️ This morning, our community came together as multiple local pastors led prayer joined by some of our students, parents, board of education, and staff for a Prayer by the Flagpole. It was a beautiful reminder that we are stronger together — united in faith, hope, and purpose.
Welcome back, WCS family! Let’s make this year amazing! 💛📚✨

📚 PARENTS’ BACK TO SCHOOL COUNTDOWN: 5 Weekdays Left! 😅
(Or as we call it, “Operation Get the Kids Out the Door”) 🚪
Monday:
Children believe they still have all the time in the world to enjoy all night video games and conversations with friends til 4am. Spoiler: they DON'T. 😟
Tuesday:
You start setting the alarm clock for a practice run. “Alright get up it's time for school, I'm just practicing!” children mad " Man stop playing." ⏰ 🎶 😠
Wednesday:
You’re meal prepping early to get a head start “Don't touch these, this is your lunch for school?” children looking at you like you're crazy. 🥪😳
Thursday:
You find yourself doing last-minute school supply runs... at 8 PM... to Walmart... AGAIN making sure you have everything so the children won't have an excuse. 📝🎒
Friday:
Parents " Go and lay your clothes out for school next week." Children stomping to their rooms because they know deep down inside you are dancing with joy! 👚👖👟
Parents, the countdown is on!💃🏽🕺🏽
But hey, here’s to the glorious return of predictable schedules, actual conversations, and peaceful dinners (fingers crossed).
