Good Evening Washington County High School Parents and Guardians,
This is Dr. David White, Interim Superintendent for Washington County Schools calling to inform you that Washington County High School will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, November 2, 2023. In light of the most recent tragic incident and out of an abundance of caution, we have elected to close to ensure the safety of our students, teachers, and staff. Teachers and staff should report to work at the regular time. We appreciate your understanding and support of Washington County High School. Thank you.
Washington County High School JROTC Panther Battalion traveled to Fort Gregg-Adams Military Base for a tour of the facilities. Guided by CPT LaKesa Cobb, the cadets were able to participate with the rifle simulator with the Engagement Skills Trainer. Traveling next to the Rigger and while there there were able to see how the parachutes are inspected and prepared for use. The next stop was to the Culinary Building to see the classrooms where Soldiers learn the basic skills and safety procedures to prepare foods and ultimately meals.

Pay attention to fire prevention™,” works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safer when cooking. We have created a series of products and online resources to help effectively and safely promote this year’s FPW theme. In the months ahead, we’ll continue to share creative ideas for helping make your FPW efforts as impactful as possible. During Fire Prevention Week it is a time to focus on fire safety and prevention measures. Teachers will engage in a data and planning session from 8:30 am - 11:30 am. Report Card pickup at both Washington County High School and Washington County Early College will remain on the calendar from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
