📚✨ School-Wide AVID in Action! ✨📚 Our school is proud to share the incredible work done during a recent AVID event with the entire student body! 🎉 Each grade level developed their own AVID Social Contracts, they will be displayed throughout the school, fostering a culture of collaboration, respect, and personal accountability. These contracts are more than just words—they represent a commitment from 100% of our student body to support one another in achieving academic excellence. This event marks a major milestone toward one of our AVID goals for the year, and we couldn’t be more excited! 🎯 Our current AVID initiative for the semester is Focused Note-Taking, helping students sharpen their learning and study skills across all subjects. Today, a group of our 8th graders participated in the College of the Albemarle’s Middle School Manufacturing Tour, where they were introduced to a variety of programs, including: • HVAC and Electrical • Welding • Aviation (AVI) • Machining • Drafting • Information Technology (IT) • Engineering An enrollment table was also available, offering students the opportunity to learn more about enrolling at COA, either as adults or through the Career and College Promise Dual Enrollment Program. #CTE #earlyexposure #handsonlearning

We hosted our Fall Honor Society Induction this evening, celebrating one of the most prestigious organization in high school—the National Honor Society (NHS). NHS is built on four core pillars: scholarship, leadership, service, and character, which guide its members in making a positive impact in their school and community. Congratulations to our newly inducted members and our returning officers! A special thanks to our Honor Society advisor, Mrs. Belcher, for her continued dedication.

🌟 Another inspiring day with some of our 6th grade students at the NCCU BRITE Program! 🌟 The NCCU BRITE Program (Biomanufacturing Research Institute and Technology Enterprise) at North Carolina Central University is a cutting-edge academic and research program focused on biotechnology and pharmaceutical sciences. It offers students hands-on training in areas such as drug discovery, bio-manufacturing, and biomedical research. Today, our group had the incredible opportunity to explore innovation happening with North Carolina Central University BRITE Program. A special highlight of the day was having one of our very own WCS & NCCU alumni, Ms. Fuller, serve as our tour guide! 🙌🏾🎓 #CTE #handson #growyourown

The BRITE (Biomanufacturing Research Institute and Technology Enterprise) Program focuses on training students in biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, and biomanufacturing, preparing them for exciting careers in STEM fields.
