Gabriela Matute “I am so proud and happy to be part of the Tiger Cubs Family!”

¡Hola! Creswell Elementary School Family. My name is Gabriela Matute and I’m from Honduras. I Graduated as an English Teacher from Pedagógica Nacional “Francisco Morazán” University In 2015. Before that, I obtained my high school degree as an Elementary Teacher at “Escuela Normal Mixta Pedro Nufio” in 2017. My experience as a teacher are more than 6 years, working with elementary and high school students.

In 2019, I decided to become an international teacher. Washington County Schools opened their doors for me, so here I am! A Dual Language Teacher at Creswell Elementary School. This is my second year of teaching abroad in U.S and I couldn’t be more grateful with the community.

Dual Language program it opens students mind to a new generation, where they are exposed to second language acquisition and into different cultures. The school year that passed 2019-2020 was the first year of the program. where we were the pioneers my partner Nivia Nolasco and I taught Spanish to children from Kindergarten class. We are starting our second year. My partner will continue teaching Kindergarten. I’ll be teaching First Graders

Through the pandemic we don’t give up. We continue moving forward with the purpose of teaching Spanish to these children who have learned to steal our hearts. I am very proud and happy to been Part of Creswell Elementary School
