
Greetings Parents, Guardians, Staff and Community Stakeholders, I am Ms. Terri Gallop, Public Information Officer with WCS with an announcement.
Happy New Year!! Our FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT TEAM along with our WCS Staff are very excited about the WCS District Spirit Week activities planned. To start off the New Year 2024, we will focus more on our theme and slogan, "LIFTING AS WE CLIMB". Beginning at 3:00 pm on January 4, 2024, Parents and Guardians from all five (5) schools will come inside to the WCMS Media center to receive a free School Supply Refresh Packet for your Scholar from their school's table. You will need to sign for each Scholar for our documentation. There is still time to sign up if you are interested in cheering for the teams or playing in the basketball games which will begin at 6:00 pm. The Staff will be wearing black shirts vs. the Students will be wearing white shirts. We are looking forward to our community coming together for fun, fellowship, light refreshments, the school supply packet and educational information from the district. See you all there!!
January is also School Board Appreciation Month. Thank you to our School Board Member, Mr. Carlos Riddick-Chair, Ms. Vanessa Cherry-Vice Chair and members Ms. Lois Clark, Mrs. Sherri Gilliam and Mr. Fred Norman. Thank you for all that you do.

All Washington County Schools will begin at the regularly scheduled time for Tuesday, December 19, 2023. The roads have been monitored and it will be safe for our buses to be on the road to transport our scholars to and from school. As always, safety first. Also, as a reminder, each of our schools will dismiss early at the following times: WCECHS - 12:00 pm, WCHS - 12:30 pm, WCMS - 12:00 pm, PES - 12:15 pm, and CES - 12:00 pm.. Wednesday, December 20, 2023 will begin our Christmas Break. Please take some time during the Holiday Break to rest, relax, spend time with family and friends or read a good book. Thank you for all of your continued support and we will see you on January 3, 2024.
Parents, Guardians and Staff if you are not receiving the All Calls, please contact the school of your child to update your phone number and email address in Powerschool for further communications.

Due to flooding, ponding of water on roads, and high winds, all of Washington County schools are closed today, December 18, 2023. Please be safe as you move about the county and be sure to tell a friend about this update.


This is a friendly reminder of the Pines Elementary School "McTeacher Night" to be hosted on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to PES to assist with needs at the school. Please come out and bring your family and friends to have dinner with us. We look forward to seeing you all there.

Books Books and more Books!! There is still time to visit, support and purchase items from the Pines Elementary School Book Fair! Scholars, Families and Staff Member have been visitings and purchasing items al week long. Friday, December 1, 2023 will be the last day to shop as the Book Fair will come to a close. We look forward to seeing you there. Thank you to the many staff and community volunteers and the ladies of Zeta Phi Beta, Incorporated Upsilon Xi Zeta Chapter for giving your time and efforts to make this Book Fair a huge success.
