Field Day Experiences at CES, PES and WCMS were filled with fun, games, laughter and music. Thank you to the WCHS JROTC Cadets for making this a great event for the scholars and the staff. Tug-of-war, hula hoops, hop scotch, sack racing, and refreshments. You are always ready to assist others in a moments notice. We appreciate you for all that you do for your community. Thank you SMG Arnold for leading the way.








Thank You to our awesome support system, WCS Retired Educators, members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated and staff from Plymouth Police Department. Each individual volunteered their precious resources with our scholars at Pines Elementary School during READ ACROSS AMERICA! We greatly appreciate you all for answering the call in giving back to WCS. Each scholar was very attentive and participated in the question and answer segment. Choose a good book and read at least 30 minutes everyday. We look forward to your continued support of WCS.

Pines Elementary is excited to announce our Duke Energy Science Night on April 18, 2024 at 5:00PM. Join us in exploring science, technology, engineering and mathematics through engaging hands-on activities such as making UV Bracelets, testing Paper Flying Machines, creating Sound Sandwiches, and much more! We look forward to seeing you there.

Congratulations to our WCS Board of Education Members on receiving awards from the NCSBA Academy of School Boardsmanship. The recognitions were presented by Interim Superintendent, Dr. David O. White to Ms. Vanessa Cherry a Certificate of Achievement, Ms. Lois Clark an Award of Excellence, Mrs. Sherri Blount Gilliam a Certificate of Merit, Mr. Fred Norman a Bronze Award and Mr. Carlos Riddick an Award of Distinction.

The excitement is in the air! Pines Elementary School Sneaker Ball will be April 12, 2024 from 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm. There are still tickets available for Scholars to purchase for this wonderful event. IMPORTANT PRE-K ANNOUNCEMENT!! Parents or guardians, will your child or children be 4 years old before or on August31, 2024? The Pre-K Applications can be picked up from CES, PES AND Central Office starting on March 1st. Completed Applications ONLY will be accepted at CSS only starting on April 1st. Please read the application throughly and secure all of the necessary documentation when submitting the completed package.



Washington County Schools will host a DISTRICT ARTS NIGHT on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the WCMS/PES Gym in Roper, NC. The ART Work will be created by the scholars from each of our five schools. The ART Teachers from WCHS, WCMS, PES and CES have inspired the scholars to be creative with their unique masterpieces. WCECHS scholars are preparing ART WORK as well. Each of the performers are preparing their performance to showcase with our community. Please come out to support our scholars throughout the medium of the ARTS. The excitement is in the air!

Ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and Retired Educators of Washington County presents three scholars with Zeta Zeal rewards today. Scholarship continue to display good character traits in your classroom, your school and your community.

Pines Elementary School will host Kindergarten Registration on March 12, 2024 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Please bring all of the required documentation and a completed packet.



The FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT District Team will be hosting the Harlem Magic Masters with a FREE Community event on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at WCMS in the gym. The Harlem Magic Masters will utilize the medium of basketball to engage scholars with a variety of topics from anti-bullying to chronic absenteeism. Come on out for this great event for all 5 schools. See you there.



This week Pines Elementary School has many activities planned for Black History Spirit Week. Parents and Guardians please come out to support the Black History Program on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the gym.
