Students, Families, Staff and Community Stakeholders! I am Principal Gallop, at Creswell Elementary School with a few announcements for the week of May 22 - May 26, 2023.
Character Education Trait for this week is perseverance. The continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition, the action or condition or an instance of persevering. Be persistent and Keep trying despite major challenges and setbacks.
THANK YOU to every Staff Member, Parent, Guardian and Student who came out to make our TITLE 1 FAMILY NIGHT “A NIGHT TO REMEMBER”! Thank you CES Staff member and WCECHS Scholar who worked so diligently to transform our gymnasium. JOB WELL DONE! Looking forward to the next event.
Monday, May 22, 2023 at 1:30 pm the K-2nd - AWARDS DAY and at 2:15 pm the 3RD-5th - AWARDSDAY. Parents and Guardians you are invited to come and celebrate your child’s success in the Multipurpose Room.
The Washington County Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at the boardroom located at 509 Adams Street, Plymouth, NC. MAKO Medical will continue to come on campus on Wednesdays for COVID Testing. There is still time to sign up if you need this service.
WCMS Youth Basketball tournament will begin Monday evening at 6:00 pm with 2 boys games. The championship for girls and boys will be Wednesday night starting at 6:00 pm. Trophies will be given to all participants after the championship game.
Students, as we are preparing to take the EOG End of Grade Assessments, please remember all of the hard work and dedication to your academics all school year. Now is the time to show what you have learned. Parents mark your calendar for these dates:
Friday, May 26th - 5th Grade Science EOG
Wednesday, May 31, 2023 - Reading EOG
Thursday, June 1, 2023 - Math EOG
Monday, May 29, 2023 is Memorial Day
and all schools will be closed.
Wednesday, May 31, 2023 will be a 2:00 pm Early Release Day and also the WCS GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY for the new Pre-K - 12 School at 4:00 pm at the former Pines Elementary School Site. Come out to witness this great historical moment.
Read at least 45 minutes a day with your child or children and have them read to you. Ask them to explain to you what they have read for comprehension and understanding. Have them share with you each day what they have learned in school in each subject. It is very important to be in school each day from the beginning to the end to receive instruction. Parents and Guardians, do not allow your child to bring any footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, kickballs, volleyballs or any athletic equipment to school. NO FOOTBALL at school during recess. Please share this information with your children. If students bring these items to school, they will be sent to the office for further actions. Students who ride the School Bus to stay in their assigned seat, put on their seatbelt until it is time for them to exit the bus and to use their inside voice. Parents and Guardians, please encourage your child to be on their best behavior in school and on the school bus. When students are out of school for sickness or appointments, and ect. please send a note to school. Please continue to be a CHAMPION in the lives of others everyday. Thank you and enjoy the remainder of your evening. GO AND GROW TIGER CUBS!!

Sea persistente y siga intentándolo a pesar de los grandes desafíos y contratiempos.
¡GRACIAS a todos los miembros del personal, padres, tutores y estudiantes que vinieron a hacer de nuestra NOCHE FAMILIAR DE TÍTULO 1 "UNA NOCHE PARA RECORDAR"! Gracias miembro del personal de CES y becario de WCECHS que trabajaron tan diligentemente para transformar nuestro gimnasio. ¡TRABAJO BIEN HECHO! Esperando con agrado el próximo evento.

La reunión de la Junta de Educación del Condado de Washington se llevará a cabo el martes 23 de mayo de 2023 a las 6:00 p.m. en la sala de juntas ubicada en 509 Adams Street, Plymouth, NC. MAKO Medical continuará viniendo al campus los miércoles para las pruebas de COVID. Todavía estás a tiempo de darte de alta si necesitas este servicio.
El torneo de baloncesto juvenil de WCMS comenzará el lunes por la noche a las 6:00 pm con 2 juegos de niños. El campeonato de niñas y niños será la noche del miércoles a partir de las 6:00 pm. Se entregarán trofeos a todos los participantes después del juego de campeonato.
Estudiantes, mientras nos preparamos para tomar las evaluaciones de fin de grado de EOG, recuerden todo el arduo trabajo y la dedicación a sus estudios académicos durante todo el año escolar. Ahora es el momento de mostrar lo que has aprendido. Padres, marquen en su calendario estas fechas:

El lunes 29 de mayo de 2023 es el Día de los Caídos y todas las escuelas estarán cerradas.
El miércoles 31 de mayo de 2023 será un día de salida temprana a las 2:00 p. m. y también la CEREMONIA DE INICIO DE LA OBRA WCS para la nueva escuela Pre-K - 12 a las 4:00 p. m. en el sitio de la antigua escuela primaria Pines. Sal a presenciar este gran momento histórico.
Lea por lo menos 45 minutos al día con su hijo o hijos y pídales que le lean. Pídales que le expliquen lo que han leído para la comprensión y comprensión. Pídales que compartan con usted cada día lo que han aprendido en la escuela en cada materia. Es muy importante estar en la escuela todos los días desde el principio hasta el final para recibir instrucción. Padres y tutores, no permitan que su hijo traiga balones de fútbol, baloncesto, fútbol, kickball, voleibol o cualquier equipo deportivo a la escuela. NO FÚTBOL en la escuela durante el recreo. Los estudiantes que viajan en el autobús escolar para permanecer en su asiento asignado, se colocan el cinturón de seguridad hasta que sea el momento de salir del autobús y usar su voz interior. Padres y tutores, animen a su hijo a comportarse lo mejor posible en la escuela y en el autobús escolar. Cuando los estudiantes están fuera de la escuela por enfermedad o citas, y ect. por favor envíe una nota a la escuela. Continúe siendo un CAMPEÓN en la vida de los demás todos los días.
